Dr. Ben Fitzpatrick

Ben is Director of Oceanwise Australia, an Adjunct Research Fellow at the University of Western Australia Oceans Institute and Member of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature; Commission on Ecosystem Management and World Congress on Protected Areas.

He draws upon 25 years’ experience as a specialist environmental scientist contributing to federal and state government programs, pure and applied multidisciplinary research at University, leading environmental management and monitoring programs for the private and commercial sector and increasingly contributing to sustainable socio-economic development and conservation initiatives internationally.

He has a long track record of publishing original science in international journals including the development and implementation of new techniques and technologies for quantifying human impacts on complex marine and terrestrial ecosystems.
